COURTESY VISIT BY ANAN

The Auditor-General for the Federation (AuGF) and Chairperson, African Union Board of External Auditors, Aghughu Adolphus A. JP; FCNA, FCTI pledged to support the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) on their millennial move towards the development of the accounting profession. He made this pledge during a courtesy visit by a delegation from ANAN in Abuja.

In his opening remarks, the AuGF said that with the aim and objective to promote the core values of the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation, the Audit Institution must be strengthened. He also spoke on the new financial forensic laboratory commissioned on Monday, June 7, 2021 and how it has been brought to fruition. He called for responsiveness and professionalism among members of the Association.

After the routine pleasantries the President of ANAN, Prof. Benjamin Chuka Osisioma commended the AuGF describing him as “a man with three caps”. The President, also lauded his on-going impact in capacity building of the Audit House for the high standards set by his administration with improved competence and professionalism. The ANAN helmsman also praised him for the newly commissioned forensic lab; offering himself to the AuGF for collaborations in moving the mandate of the Association forward across the nation. He also called for an extension of invitation for a training in financial forensics among members of the Association.

On his part, the AuGF pledged his full support to the Association towards ensuring its growth and progress in the nation and beyond. He also assured his guests that his doors were open for further deliberations to move the association forward.

In attendance were Directors of Audit including Mr. Akindele Wasiu Dosamu, Director, Environmental Audit Department who gave an insight to the role of Environmental Audit and shared his experiences in the professional field.
