Andrew Ogochukwu Onwudili, FCNA, FCTI, MCFI has assumed duty as the Director of Audit, Overseeing the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF).
He was born in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State on the 14th of July, 1964. He attended St. Patrick Primary School Yaba, Lagos from 1970 where he obtained his primary school leaving certificate in 1974 and West African School Certificate in 1979 from Otaru Grammar School (Our Lady of Fatima College) Auchi, Edo State respectively. Between 1979 and 1981, he attended Edo College, Benin City, Edo State where he obtained his Higher School Certificate.
Onwudili attended the famous University of Benin (UNIBEN) Benin, Edo State from 1981-1984 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc) in Accounting. He was also bestowed with an honorary Doctorate Degree from Prowess University, Delaware, USA in 2021.
Onwudili is a thoroughbred, result-oriented Public Servant with over 30 years of experience as a competent Professional in Audit. His working experience started at the Ekiti Akoko Agricultural Development project during his National Youth Service Corps in Ikole Ekiti, Ondo State in 1985. He also held a Temporary Appointment at the Audit Department of the Nigerian Bank for Commerce and Industry between 1986 and 1987. He joined the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria as a Senior Auditor and has progressed swiftly in his Career to Director of Audit, Extra-Ministerial Audit Department in the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation as a frontrunner and member of management alongside other Directors of Audit in the OAuGF before his appointment as Director Overseeing the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation.
The Director Overseeing - OAuGF, in the course of duty has attended many courses and in-service training locally and abroad which have broadened his professional horizon and refined his competence.
Onwudili has memberships of many professional bodies. These include Fellow, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) (2008), Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (2003), Associate member, Institute of Public Accountant of Nigeria (ICPAN) (2005), Fellow, Chartered Taxation Institute (FCTI) (2013), Fellow, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCCA) (2020) and Member, Computer Forensics Institute (MCFI) (2022).
