AuGF PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR ANUK

 

The Auditor-General for the Federation (AuGF) Aghughu Adolphus A. JP; FCNA, FCTI, was tasked as a “golden sponsor” for the Association of National Accountants University, (ANUK) Kwall, Plateau State.

The Vice Chancellor (VC), Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio presented this charge to the AuGF in a courtesy visit on Friday, 25th March, 2022. In his statement, he described the AuGF as a reformer and a transformer of the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Nigeria. The impact of his leadership has been vast and revealing even on international expeditions. He also thanked the AuGF for building the integrity of SAI Nigeria. Musa said, the AuGF should “leave a stamp on his legacy”.

According to him, the Association of National Accountants (ANAN) as a movement, has seen the output of the AuGF to a great degree in the 2019 reports. He said, the purpose of his visit was to set in motion a solid relationship between the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation and the University. The University he said, “makes rapid positive contributions as a specialized Accounting University in Nigeria and globally building on the reputation of the Nigerian College of Accountancy that it operates”.

The AuGF in his response rehearsed his humble beginnings as a trained teacher, affirming the value of education. “There is hope for Nigeria and in education, every child is valued”, he said.  He acknowledged the university’s solicitations and said that the OAuGF is an actual stakeholder in the university and is inclined to put “a mark of ownership” on ANUK. He reflected on each of the members ANUK’s board of trustees, indicating that each member is individually associated with eminence.

Mr. Apoti Saluwu, an Assistant Director of Audit and Special Assistant (Technical) to the AuGF also called on the VC of ANUK to consider collaborations with the OAuGF. He recommended that an alliance will be vital for the best practices in the accounting profession of SAI Nigeria.
