The Auditor-General for the Federation (AuGF) Mr. Anthony Mkpe Ayine has enjoined auditors to put the interest of the country first for positive difference in governance.
He said for the country to operate in a transparent and accountable manner, staff need to exhibit the right attitude to work, be ready to align
themselves with the principles and objectives of the organization and above all have the fear of God in the discharge of their official duties.
Mr. Ayine made this statement during the induction of new staff of the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation (OAuGF) on Monday, 6th November, 2017 in Abuja.
The AuGF said that the Office is on the path of developing its capacity in line with national expectations and is therefore positioned to encourage officers who are ready to key in and add value to the activities of the Office in line with its aspirations.
According to Mr. Mkpe Ayine, the Office has planned an elaborate induction which will last for three weeks. There will also be subsequent training programme to ensure that a new generation of patriotic and well groomed auditors is mentored to deliver on the constitutional mandate of the Office.
The Auditor-General opined that “considering the nature of our Job, opportunities abound for individuals to also fulfill their aspirations, all they need to do is make integrity their watch word” he said.
The induction of the new staff is from 6th November to 24th November, 2017. During the induction, the new staff will be put through the various activities in all the Departments and Units of the Office.
