The African Organization of English Speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) held its 11th Governing Board meeting at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 5th to 9th May, 2014.
The Organization which is a sub-regional group of the continental chapter of International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) AFROSAI-E was inaugurated on 13th May, 2005 by Mr. A. E. Thabo Mbeki, the then President of South Africa in Cape Town.
The objective of the annual Governing Board meeting is to mainly discuss governing issues of the organization. The event is also used to build up the capacity of member states through the conducting of workshops on selected thematic issues.
AFROSAI-E has achieved a lot in serving its members and stakeholders in terms of the following strategic imperative:- Independence, capacity building in all spheres of auditing, use of Information Technology in auditing, Performance Auditing, Communication and stakeholders management etc.
The 11th meeting of AFROSAI-E governing board was attended by the 24-member countries and members of AFROSAI-E Institutional partners.
The meeting was hosted by the Auditor-General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Gemechu Dubibo Godana. The President of the Federal Democratic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Mr. Mulate Teshame declared the meeting open.
The 12th Governing Board meeting of AFROSAI-E will be hosted by the Auditor-General for the Federation, Nigeria Mr. Samuel T. Ukura in Abuja, between 14th to 16th May, 2015
